"Legilimens!" Snape felt Harry's mind push back. Was Harry getting
better?

Snape looked down. Harry's chest heaved, a drop of sweat rolled
down his cheek.

No, not yet. Snape was just distracted. Distracted by what he
wanted and shouldn't have.

You're strong, Snape told himself, but his hand reached out by
itself and he knew he was weak.

"Wait here," he snapped. In the corridor, Snape lit up and sighed
in relief. Tomorrow he would quit smoking for sure.

If only there were something else to distract him.

Snape finished his cigarette and went back in to Harry.
