WHY DO ELEPHANTS DRINK?

"Can I come in?"

"I guess."

Jonas sat down beside Daniel. "Remember anything?"

Daniel frowned. "No."

"Sometimes a particular scent will trigger a memory."

"Is that so?" Daniel leaned over, face just grazing Jonas's jaw,
and drew a deep breath.

The hair on the back of Jonas's neck stood up. Daniel moved in,
smelling Jonas's skin, his hair. Jonas closed his eyes and started
to reach up, to cup the back of Daniel's head.

Then Daniel pulled away. "Sorry, I still don't remember you."

Jonas opened his eyes. "No reason why you should."

He left, closing the door behind him.
