"You're looking nice today," Draco said.

Hermione stared. Ron pushed in front of her. "What are you up to,
Malfoy?"

"Just being friendly." Draco clapped Ron on the shoulder, then
walked down the hallway, stopping to help a Hufflepuff first year
with a stack of books.

The next day, Draco congratulated Harry on his magnificent catch in
last week's Quidditch game and brought Professor McGonagall a
bouquet of daisies.

On the third day, Draco was helping Neville with his Charms
homework when he slid to the floor, unconscious. They carried him
to the hospital wing.

The brain tumour was inoperable.
