Categories: Drabbles & Shorts, Harry Potter

Rating: G.

Fandom/Spoilers: Harry Potter. Books and movies.

Summary: Snape, Hermione, potion making.

Disclaimer: Rowling, not me.

Notes: For the snape100 colour challenge.

"Time," Snape said.

"I'm finished." Hermione filled a flask with green liquid. "Are you?"

Snape glared and set down another flask. "First, effectiveness." He fed drops of potion to two white mice. They floated up an inch above the table. Snape swirled, then sniffed the flasks. "Good consistency, acceptable aroma." He smiled thinly. "However, your colour is off." Hermione's potion was a shade paler than Snape's.

"According to the Potion Matching System, Levitation Draught is colour 358." Hermione opened a swatchbook and held up a colour card. Hers matched perfectly.

So did Snape's face when she told him his forfeit.

Short and sweet.

"So did Snape's face when she told him his forfeit."

Wonderful last line. Leaves me giggling happily. Thanks!

this is the first fic of yours i haven't understood, and i'm feeling rather embarrassed and ashamed.... chuckles to hermione beating snape at his own field, but i don't get the significance of the potion being apple green, as sergeant majorette said, and i don't understand what snape's forfeit is. help! i want to understand!!!

elsie @ April 27, 2005

is the colour a reference to sickness?
or his house?
confusion isn't good
if everyone understood everything
life would be a breeze
so easy
make lots more time to read fan fics
